🗂 Website Backup via Control Panel
Most popular hosting control panels allow you to back up your website and database in just a few clicks. This is especially useful for users who prefer not to set up backups manually via terminal. In this article, we’ll look at how to create a website backup using ISPmanager, cPanel, Plesk, and other systems.
📦 Backup in ISPmanager
- 🔑 Log in to ISPmanager panel
- 🗃 Go to Tools → Backups
- ➕ Click “Create backup” and select what to save (entire account or specific site)
- 💾 Specify the storage directory or external FTP
- ⏱ Wait for the process to finish — the backup will be available for download
🛠 Website Backup in cPanel
- 📥 Go to the Backup section
- 💼 Choose “Download a Full Account Backup” or create a partial backup (domains, databases, mail)
- 📤 Select the delivery method (email, FTP, local)
- 🕒 Click “Generate Backup” — the file will be available for download later
🔐 Backup in Plesk
- 🔧 Log in to Plesk and open the desired domain
- 📁 Go to Tools & Settings → Backup Manager
- 🧩 Choose full or incremental backup
- ☁ You can set up automatic upload to FTP/S3
- 🔄 Restore is available from the same panel
📌 Backup Tips
- 🕒 Make backups before CMS, plugin, or PHP updates
- 📆 Keep at least 3 recent copies
- ☁ Use external storage for reliability
- 🧪 Test restore on a staging environment if possible
